The slap that the actor gave Chris Rock in the middle of the Hollywood Academy Awards gala, following the presenter made a joke regarding his wife, begins to have consequences for his film career. Smith is seeing how some of his upcoming projects are canceled following the incident.

The winner of the statuette for The Williams method is seeing how some of his next projects are being canceled following the incident. This is the case for Fast and Loose, a film that he was going to star in on Netflix. A project that seems to have been definitively paralyzed, but as The Hollywood Reporter reported, it began to have problems before Smith’s assault on Rock at the Oscars took place.

The same happens with the fourth installment of Two rebel policemen. This installment of the saga that Will Smith stars with Martin Lawrence had been in active development for some time. Smith received 40 pages of the script before the Oscars, but now he too has stalled.

On the other hand, the American actor resigned his membership of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Hollywood last Friday following the body confirmed the opening of an investigation into the incident and announced disciplinary measures once morest him. The resignation implies that the actor will no longer be able to vote once more to choose the winners of the next Oscar awards.

David Rubin, president of the Academy, responded to the actor’s resignation by saying that they will continue to advance in the disciplinary procedures, and has confirmed that the Academy has a meeting scheduled for April 18 where possible sanctions will be discussed.
