“Incarnation” is a beautiful and long story of friendship between Claire Cassat and Pierre Lehmann, between the designer and illustrator and the carpenter who became a sculptor. Their wildest desire was precisely to follow their dreams by sharing their worlds, their sensitivity and their emotions and this exhibition which you can discover at the MJC nasturtium gallery, from February 1 to 22, is the concretization.
“Together, we managed to take the step of embodying our artistic practice, what we really are, between Pierre’s stone and wood sculptures and my drawing and watercolor portraits. This exhibition has really makes sense to us…”, explains Claire Cassat.
But this makes even more sense when we know that the two artists also invited Antonin Gissinger to “represent” the poetry aspect, writing and the art of writing: “Antonin also runs writing workshops and he will host one the day before the opening (Editor’s note: Wednesday January 31). The latter will take place in the heart of the exhibition, so that the children (between 8 and 10 years old) who will participate can immerse themselves in what is on offer for writing”. Other highlights will be offered, such as the exhibition of drawings by children from Claire’s workshop “because each work, each drawing, each poetry has a story to share…”. The opening of the “Incarnation” exhibition is open to all and will take place on Thursday, February 1, at 6:30 p.m., at the MJC’s Capucines gallery.
