Inauguration of the new headquarters of the National Communications Center and the Customs Information System

ALGIERS – The new headquarters of the National Center for Transmissions and Customs Information System (CNTSID), equipped with equipment and systems to modernize and facilitate customs procedures, was officially inaugurated on Wednesday.

The inauguration of this headquarters, which is part of the digitalization of the sector, should facilitate the services provided by the General Directorate of Customs (DGD) for the benefit of travelers and economic operators, underlined the Minister of Finance, Laaziz Faid during the inauguration ceremony, held in the presence of several members of the government.

Mr. Faid noted, in this context, the importance of this digital infrastructure in the modernization of customs which must “face numerous challenges including the need to provide a service that meets the expectations of the citizen and the operator economic, securing the national economy, as well as adaptation to different technological developments internationally.

For his part, the Director General of Customs, Abdelhafid Bakhouche, indicated that “this approach reflects the high interest of the public authorities in promoting the public customs service”, adding that the CNTSID must also host the new Customs Information System Algerians (ALCES), which is “gradually implemented”.

The new CNTSID headquarters in fact includes an integrated technological infrastructure with a data system and an advanced communications network, as well as various programs that contribute to the upgrade of national customs services.

It also makes it possible to establish links with the information systems of the various partners and actors in the foreign trade logistics chain, it was explained during the ceremony.

This new system aims to simplify customs procedures, adding more transparency to foreign trade operations, the effectiveness of mechanisms to combat fraud and tax and customs fraud, as well as securing data on international trade. .

The CNTSID is also responsible for contributing to the development of the DGD’s policy concerning information and communication technologies (ICT), while identifying the needs of customs services in terms of ICT, and developing related specifications.

The center also aims to promote the digital customs system and electronic procedures, ensuring ICT security within the customs administration.
