THE CHAIRMAN of the Gerindra Central Java DPD, Sudaryono, who was recently appointed as Deputy Minister of Agriculture by President Joko Widodo, confirmed that he will not run as a gubernatorial candidate in the Central Java regional elections.
“With this new assignment for the Central Java Pilkada, I have received instructions not to run,” said Sudaryono following the inauguration, quoted from Between, Thursday (18/7).
Sudaryono admitted that he had received instructions not to run following being appointed as Deputy Minister of Agriculture.
He stressed that he would focus on assisting Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman with his new duties under the administration of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin.
According to Sudaryono, the burden of his duties as Deputy Minister of Agriculture was quite heavy so he decided not to continue his candidacy as a candidate for governor of Central Java.
“The workload is also not light, so with this inauguration, I declare that I will not run as a gubernatorial candidate once more,” he said.

When asked regarding the right candidate to run in the Central Java gubernatorial election, Sudaryono, or Mas Dar as he is familiarly known, stated that the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) would be solid in nominating a gubernatorial candidate.
“The decision regarding the names of the gubernatorial and deputy gubernatorial candidates supported by the Gerindra Party and KIM will be announced soon,” he added.
“We’ll just wait for the decision, the name will be visible soon,” said Sudaryono regarding the candidate announcement process that will be carried out in the near future. (Z-10)
