Inameh predicts rain in several regions of Venezuela

  • The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology estimates that tropical wave number 50 will reach the country on October 29

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh) predicts rain, showers and occasional electrical shocks after noon in much of the territory. For the first hours of October 28, stable weather conditions will remain, with slightly cloudy and clear skies.

The areas of the country that will register an increase in cloudiness will be the Capital District, Miranda, La Guaira, Aragua, Carabobo, Bolívar, Amazonas, Delta Amacuro, Monagas, Sucre, Apure, Barinas, Portuguesa, Yaracuy, Falcón, Los Andes and Zulia.

Inameh added that temperatures in the city of Caracas, La Guaira and Los Teques will range between 18 and 33 degrees Celsius.

Likewise, the entity highlighted that tropical wave 48 is over the center of the country while wave number 49 is moving from the east of French Guiana and they expect its arrival in Venezuelan territory on Tuesday, October 29.

“The tropical wave is advancing towards western Venezuela. At the moment, evolving clouds generating variable rains are observed in the south and central part of Táchira, northwest of Zulia, Alto Apure, sectors of Amazonas, west and south of Bolívar, northeast of Anzoátegui, north of Monagas, center and east from Sucre,” said meteorologist Luis Vargas on his social network account X.

Vargas highlighted that the activity of the tropical wave is a “punctual” report that changes progressively due to its displacement.

Recent floods in the Capital District and Miranda

Users on social networks reported that the rains recorded during the afternoon of October 20 caused floods in areas of the Capital District such as Quinta Crespo, Coche, El Valle, Capitol, Propatria, El Paraíso, Bello Monte, among others.

In the state of Miranda, rainfall was also recorded in different sectors such as Las Mercedes, Prados del Este, as well as the Pan-American highway, where the rains caused vehicle chaos due to flooding on the roads.

People also warned that a landslide occurred at kilometer 2, at the height of the walkway in the direction of San Antonio de Los Altos.

A landslide also occurred in La Guaira, which caused the debris to reach the Caracas-La Guaira highway.

Precipitation has caused river overflows, flooding and damage in various areas of the country in recent weeks. The authorities have urged the population to remain alert and follow precautionary measures to avoid risks.

**Interview with Meteorologist Luis Vargas on Upcoming ‌Tropical Wave**

**Editor:** Welcome, Luis, and thank you for ‌joining us ⁢today.‌ We’ve heard reports from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology⁢ (Inameh) regarding the upcoming tropical wave number 50. Can you tell ‍us what we can expect as it approaches Venezuela?

**Luis Vargas:** Thank you ⁢for having me. Yes, tropical wave number 50 is forecast to ⁤reach Venezuela on October 29, bringing increased ‌cloud ⁢cover and the likelihood of rain, particularly in the afternoon. It’s crucial for residents to prepare for‌ potential showers and occasional electrical storms.

**Editor:** You‍ mentioned different regions will be affected. Can you detail which areas are likely to see the most significant ⁤weather changes?

**Luis Vargas:** Certainly. The Capital District, along with states like Miranda, La Guaira, Aragua, Carabobo, Bolívar, Amazonas, and several others are expected to see heightened cloudiness and precipitation. Regions in the northwest, specifically parts of Táchira and ⁢Zulia, are already experiencing evolving clouds and scattered rains.

**Editor:** Following the recent heavy rainfall over various regions, there are concerns ⁣about flooding. Can you provide insights on how‌ the upcoming wave could impact vulnerable areas that have recently experienced flooding?

**Luis Vargas:** Absolutely. Given‍ the saturation of the ground and ⁤recent flooding incidents, particularly in the Capital District⁢ and Miranda, the arrival of this tropical wave could exacerbate‌ conditions. ⁣We’ve seen the ⁢infrastructure already impacted, which ⁤raises concerns about river overflows ⁢and more localized flooding. It’s essential that residents remain vigilant and heed any advisories issued by local ⁣authorities.

**Editor:** In terms of temperature, how will these conditions influence the climate over the next few days, particularly in urban areas⁣ like Caracas?

**Luis Vargas:** The temperatures in Caracas, La Guaira, and Los Teques‌ are projected to range ⁣from 18⁣ to 33 degrees Celsius. The increase in cloud cover will likely contribute to slightly⁤ cooler temperatures⁣ during the day but can lead to warmer, humid conditions at night. This fluctuation is typical during this time of year⁤ with ongoing storms⁢ and⁤ tropical ‍influences.

**Editor:** what advice would you⁣ give to the public ⁣as we anticipate these weather changes?

**Luis Vargas:** I recommend that everyone stay⁢ informed through⁣ reliable weather updates and be prepared for sudden changes in weather. Having emergency‌ kits ready, avoiding travel during heavy rains, and being cautious near rivers and areas prone to flooding are vital steps. The ⁢situation can ‌evolve quickly, so ‍staying alert is key.

**Editor:** Thank you, Luis, for this helpful information. We appreciate⁢ your insights on this‌ critical weather update.

**Luis Vargas:** Thank you for having me. Stay safe, everyone!
