Inameh issued a yellow alert in seven states of the country

Caracas.- The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh) issued a yellow alert due to hydrological conditions in Amazonas, Apure, Bolívar, Zulia, Táchira, Mérida and Trujillo. This is due to the heavy rains recorded in recent days, which generated damages in several regions of the country.

Similarly in the state of Zulia, given the high levels and growth of the rivers: Catatumbo, Zulia, Bravo, Escalante and their tributaries. While in the Andean region, Táchira, Mérida and Trujillo due to the increase in the level of the rivers in the mountainous areas.

The yellow alert is defined as possible meteorological phenomena with the capacity for damage and risk of momentary interruption of daily activities. On the scale presented, yellow is one of the four possible levels, and this alert is declared when river levels reach critical heights that make overflow imminent, or when flooding has already begun.
