Inameh estimates rain in Venezuela on Saturday, July 6

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMEH) forecast rain in much of the country on Saturday, July 6.

Among the areas that might have rainfall of “variable intensity” are: Guayana Esequiba, east of Delta Amacuro, south of Guárico, west of Bolívar, Amazonas, Apure, Barinas, Falcón and north of Zulia.

Inameh estimates that cloudiness of varying intensity will continue in the rest of the country, according to what was reported in its X account.

According to Inameh, the tropical wave season in Venezuela began on May 1 and will last until November 30.

The arrival of tropical wave number 17

On Wednesday, July 3, Inameh announced the arrival of the tropical wave number 17which will generate an increase in rainfall in Venezuela.

Authorities are monitoring the system’s development because it has a 20% chance of becoming a tropical cyclone, the agency said.

On July 2, it also passed through the Venezuelan Caribbean Sea Hurricane Beryl, which caused the Manzanares River to overflow in the state of Sucre and left more than 25 thousand people affected, three dead and hundreds of businesses and homes destroyed.

On Wednesday, July 3, the Minister of Interior and Justice, Remigio Ceballos, confirmed that a team of 3,600 officials had been deployed to assist those affected.

For his part, the governor of the state of Sucre, Gilberto Pinto, indicated in an interview Union Radio that 145 businesses were affected.

Recommendations for the arrival of rains in Venezuela

Civil Protection (PC) offers a series of Recommendations for people during the rainy season in the country.

-Close doors and windows to avoid drafts as they attract lightning.

-In case of flooding, you should leave the area or seek higher ground.

-Disconnect the electricity if there is water inside a home.

-Do not turn on the light switch, use flashlights instead.

-Pay attention to the social networks of rescue teams and competent authorities.

-Keep a spare set of batteries and flashlights in your home.

-Keep children and adolescents under surveillance during the storm.

-Use the seat belt.

-If you are traveling by road, stay on the road and do not detour onto dirt roads.

-Slow down if you are driving and keep your eyes forward.

-Do not overtake vehicles.

-Pay attention to the social networks of rescue teams and competent authorities.

-Stay away from areas of possible landslides or near rivers.

-Do not attempt to drive near rivers and ravines, as the force of the water can sweep away vehicles.

Both INTT and Civil Protection urge all road users to drive with caution, respect speed limits and traffic signs to avoid accidents during the rainy season.
