On the 27th, former People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok expressed strong displeasure at Innovation Committee Chairman In Yo-han’s remark that “Jun-seok is his parents’ fault.”
Former Representative Lee said, “Chairman In brought in my mother and father to criticize me,” and added, “I have lived in Suncheon (Chairman In’s hometown), but there is no culture like this even in Suncheon.”
Former CEO Lee appeared on SBS Radio’s ‘Kim Tae-hyun’s Political Show’ this morning and criticized it, saying, “Young people say ‘pad lip’, but is pad lip an innovation?”
‘Padrip’ is a slang term for an immoral remark.
At the People Power Party’s youth and party member innovation training event the day before, Chairman In reportedly referred to former representative Lee as ‘Jun-seok’ and said, “Jun-seok has no morals. It is not Jun-seok’s fault, but his parents’ fault.”
Regarding Chairman In’s remark that “Jun-seok is not rude,” former representative Lee said, “I don’t know where you learned to refer to a politician who was a party leader in his 40s as ‘Jun-seok’ at a party event,” he said. “If you look at it that way, it’s an old man’s theory,” he refuted.
‘Cheon A-Yong-in (Cheon Har-ram, Heo Eun-ah, Kim Yong-tae, Lee Ki-in), classified as Lee Jun-seok’s group, immediately criticized Chairman In’s remarks.
Chun Haram, chairman of the People Power Party’s Jeollanam-do Suncheon Gap Party Council, said in a CBS radio interview, “Isn’t it a bit too harsh to say that there are no morals? You can evaluate or criticize only yourself, but you’re also dragging it to your parents.”
Even within the party, it was pointed out that Chairman In’s remarks were inappropriate.
People Power Party Supreme Council member Kim Byeong-min also appeared on a radio program and said, “It is not appropriate.” He added, “Of course, we can point out the issue of former representative Lee’s oriental etiquette, but it is not appropriate to bring up his parents as well.”
Rep. Lee Yong-ho also said on a radio station, “Involving parents to criticize an individual is crossing the line and a very wrong remark,” and added, “It is only right to apologize.”
