Despite the polling time starting at 8 am across the country, the polling process might not start on time in many constituencies, due to which the citizens faced difficulties.
Complaints have been received from various polling stations of the federal capital Islamabad, the twin cities of Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and other small and big cities that the polling process has started late, while the citizens are also facing difficulties due to mobile phone shutdown. It has to be done.
According to reports, polling station No. 197, PS 126 of NA 248 started with delay. Similarly, due to incomplete arrangements at women’s polling station No. 89 in PS 87, women voters formed a long queue, but polling started late.
Polling started late in polling stations 258 and 259 in Constituency NA 238 PIB Colony in Karachi itself.
Voters in NA-32 in Peshawar were upset as polling started late, while women voters faced difficulties in finding polling stations.
Due to the outage of mobile phone service and internet, citizens found it difficult to use SMS service of Election Commission and NADRA and citizens were deprived of information or confirmation of polling station.
Meanwhile, polling started late in Rawalpindi’s NA-55, where women complained regarding the administration. Polling staff might not reach Islamabad’s Constituency NA-48 on time, due to which the voters had to suffer. At the polling station of the Government High School in Murree, the staff arrived almost three-and-a-half hours late, causing inconvenience to the voters.
Besides, there are reports of delayed start of election process from many other constituencies of the country.
On the other hand, according to the Election Commission Monitoring Cell, 25 complaints have been received, including late start of polling and other complaints, which have been resolved immediately. ADG Monitoring Haroon Shinwari says that polling is going on peacefully across the country.
