Since October 15, the Walloon Region has required any user of the electricity network with a charging station to declare it to their network manager. The Walloon vehicle fleet is changing. DBy 2030, almost one in two vehicles will be electric or hybrid. Network operators and Wallonia anticipate the future electricity needs of households and businesses. This is notably the case of Resa, the main distribution network operator active in the province of Liège.
“The charging of electric vehicles can cause a significant power peak on the network. The declaration of the terminals allows the network manager to anticipate these peaks, to refine his knowledge of the network and to better target the places where reinforcements should possibly be planned in the future”, explains Resa by press release.
To declare a charging station, you are advised to contact your distribution network manager. In Wallonia, there are five, spread over the territory of the region. For Resa customers, the company has set up a form on its site.
