In view of the current situation, distance from people is no longer painful, Zoom app has come in a new way

The popular video conferencing application ‘Zoom’ has launched its new and improved version 5.0 to make user information more secure.

The new version includes improved encryption features to prevent unauthorized people from joining a video conference. Joining any meeting will require a six-digit password instead of the password itself.

Apart from webinars and cloud recording, the meeting admin is also given the facility to enter the expiry date of the recording.

Due to the corona virus, millions of people in countries around the world are using this app for work and to connect with their loved ones. Prior to Zoom’s version 5.0, the company faced criticism for poor data and user privacy.

The app was accused of sending users’ data to Facebook, falsely claiming to be user-to-user encrypted, and allowing meeting hosts to track attendees.

One of the biggest problems with the Zoom app was that unrelated people would join it during the meeting, due to which many companies, educational institutions and governments stopped using the app. A serious incident of this type occurred in Singapore where a teachers’ meeting on Zoom was interrupted by unrelated persons (allegedly hackers).

Due to the corona virus, there was an unexpected increase in the use of Zoom and questions were being raised about the company’s ability to provide a secure service to so many users.

After being criticized for security issues, the company’s chief apologized and promised users that they would address the concerns.
