In view of its marginalization in the war in Ukraine, is the UN still useful?

In a dark khaki shirt, Volodymyr Zelensky addressed Tuesday followingnoon by videoconference to the Security Council meeting in New York in urgent session on Ukraine. The tone is firm, the flow quick. Ukrainian President describes the horrors committed by Russian forces in Ukraine. He speaks of “civilians still in their car, run over by a tank, just for fun”, raped women, people with their throats cut. He then invites the members of the Security Council to watch a chilling video which shows bodies in mass graves, the hands of corpses, all accompanied by cello and violin music. The message is powerful, but incredibly sad.
