Apple has just published a new video on its YouTube channel, where we can discover a quick presentation of its new mixed reality headset. Part of the content focuses in particular on the professional use of the device. We can see the user opening Safari superimposed on its environment, with the playback of titles on Apple Music on the left and the Mail inbox on the right. These three apps are all also available on Mac, which recalls the name “space computer” with which Cupertino does not hesitate to adorn its mount.

As a reminder, the Apple Vision Pro is currently available for pre-order in the United States and could arrive in Europe before the summer. We do not yet know its price for the Old Continent, however, but the price to pay to buy it from Uncle Sam is already fixed: count 3 499 dollars for the basic version with 256 GB of internal storage. You have to add 200 dollars to upgrade to double the memory, or 400 dollars (or 3,899 dollars in total) for the Vision Pro which is the best equipped in this area; with 1 TB this time.

The technical sheet: resolutely high-end

To find out more about the Apple Vision Pro, we took the time to dissect in detail its technical sheet, just published by the manufacturer. This specifies in particular that the mixed reality headset has no less than two proprietary processors under the hood. One of them, brand new, is the R1 still with 256 GB per second of memory bandwidth. For comparison, the most affordable 14-inch MacBook Pro M3 makes do with “only” 100 GB per second of memory bandwidth.

The Vision Pro is also powered by the chip M2, which many people know because it also equips their MacBook Air or their Mac mini. Here, users benefit from an eight-core CPU and a ten-core graphics card, all supported by a sixteen-core Neural Engine. This is an engine dedicated to operations powered by artificial intelligence, with Samsung also offering AI features with its new premium mobiles.

Other automatically installed apps

The Vision Pro offers many other native apps, such as FaceTime, which Apple also demonstrates in its new video. The Photos platform, which as its name suggests allows you to store your photos, is also available on the headset. Its content is synchronized in real time with the owner’s iPhones and iPads, thanks to iCloud.

Finally, note that the Vision Pro also comes with the Apple TV app, which provides access to the Apple TV+ streaming service. Count on 9.99 euros per month to enjoy its unlimited video catalog, but a trial period is offered.

What’s in the box?

At the same time, note that Apple has also specified what the Vision Pro box contains. It includes a cloth to clean the screen in case of fingerprints, the external battery and its cable or even a thirty-watt USB-C adapter for recharging. As a reminder, the autonomy of the headset is approximately two hours, with a single battery.
