EA Sports FC 24 has been on the market for almost a month and, so far, the impact has been very positive. EA’s strategy is to gradually leave the FIFA brand behind following the end of the agreement with the International Football Federation and now there are only two weeks left until the closure of servers for four previous editions of FIFA.
In two weeks the servers of four versions of FIFA will close
EA Sports supported the decision and now in just two weeks it will officially close the servers of four editions of FIFA: FIFA 18, FIFA 19, FIFA 20 and FIFA 21. The servers of FIFA 22 and FIFA 23, meanwhile, will remain open for now, and only those two and the current EA Sports FC 24 will remain.
Starting Monday, November 6, the servers for these games will no longer be functional. This implies that there will be no support of any kind and, fundamentally, that none of these FIFAs can no longer be played online, basically because the players will not have any server to connect to. Of course, the measure responds to the fact that the flow of players of FIFA 18, FIFA 19, FIFA 20 and FIFA 21 is already insignificant and keeping those servers open is more expensive than keeping those players with potential in-game purchases or loyalty to the product.
EA removed all FIFA from virtual stores
After the complete change of the franchise and the birth of EA Sports FC 24 as the new brand of EA’s football simulator, the company made the decision to remove all digital versions of previous FIFA games in virtual stores. You will no longer be able to find FIFA 23 in the PS Store, nor in the Microsoft Store for Xbox, or the Nintendo Store, nor in Steam or Epic Games for PC.
