Engie has won several contracts for the installation of charging points in France and Belgium ranging from urban charging stations in alternating current to high-power motorways in direct current.
2,800 is the number of charging stations that the French Engie will install and then operate in the Flemish regions of Antwerp, Limburg and West Flanders, with the start of work starting this month and an end announced in the two years. Eventually, this will add 5,600 charging points since each station can accommodate two vehicles simultaneously.
But that’s not all because Engie has also won a few victories at home: the magnificent city of Strasbourg is thus honoring Automobile Propre, where its editorial staff is located, by asking it to add 500 additional charging points by the end of 2025, while the metropolis of Aix -Marseille-Province will have at least 260 more by 2024.
Engie also knows how to do direct current fast charging on the highway (where the increase in prices will be strongly felt in 2023) and was selected at the same time by APRR and SANEF to respectively add 16 stations between Paris and Lyon and 18 in the east and north of France as well as in Normandy. And at least 15 more at Esso stations as part of a partnership with Certas Energy.
Finally, Engie is joining forces with Indigo to install the first fast charging stations in underground car parks. This innovative project plans to equip 35 sites in 20 cities to reach a total of almost 280 charging points.
