Talent does’nt wait the number of years. A formula that actor and director Lionel Latapie understood. He will soon launch on four sessions, a stand up for young people from Toulouse. The first comedy club for budding comedians, in a way. “I run the theater classes” Jack said…, he explains, and inspired by American stand-ups, I wanted to open up to children and teenagers aged 7 to 14, the opportunity to perform solo numbers, to confront the public, to test their diction and their spontaneity, without decor or props. »
Four to five minutes of stand up
Even if the duration of the stand up is between four and five minutes, the session is not that easy. “You have to be motivated, interested, curious and want to take up a challenge,” continues Lionel Latapie. You can take up a text already known to the public, create your sketch, a story.
For each of the sessions scheduled for January 21, February 11, March 11 and April 8 in the performance hall of the Mama Shelter in Toulouse, ten young people are therefore invited to perform, i.e. a total of 40 young people: “At the end of each performance, two or three are nominated for the grand finale on May 13 and rewarded by a jury of professionals who will select the most promising young people. “An initiative that can reveal talents, reveal vocations, assures Lionel Latapie. A kind of spontaneous gateway that is both playful and creative. »
On the show side, Lionel Latapie knows a lot regarding it. After having played in Toulouse with the Bosnian director, Haris Burina, he recently directed the play by Philippe Cros, “Toxines Familiales” and the sequel “Il faut de l’ordre”. He also played at the 3 T in Toulouse, at the Comédie de Toulouse and at the Théâtre de 10 heures in Paris. He also participated in the series “Ici, tout commence” on TF1 and in “Tandem” on France 3. “I also had to give the children a chance. It was close to my heart, ”concludes this atypical artist.
