In three months, 39 people died from COVID-19 in Coahuila; more than half had comorbidities

In the last three months, 39 people have died from COVID-19 in 13 municipalities of Coahuila, including Torreón, Matamoros and San Pedro de las Colonias. The state Ministry of Health reported on Monday that 90 percent of deaths occurred in hospitals of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS).

Of the total number of fatalities, 56% suffered from diabetes or high blood pressure and only two received the Paxlovid treatment from the pharmaceutical company Pfizera specific antiviral once morest the SARS-CoV-2 virus. 38% had two doses of the anti-COVID vaccine and 15% had received the booster. The last dose applied was from 7 to 21 months.

So far in the COVID-19 pandemic, the state of Coahuila adds 9 thousand 049 deaths, most reported between the months of September and November 2020, when the vaccine once morest COVID-19 had not yet arrived in Mexico.

By region, the Southeast has a cumulative 2,707 deaths, followed by La Laguna with 2,695 fatalities. The Central region reports 1,634 deaths; the North region a total of 1,329 deaths and the Carboniferous region adds 684 deaths.
