Al-Marsad Newspaper: A neurosurgeon consultant, Dr. Fawzia Bamqadam, revealed the tragedy of a girl who was disabled by a “sorcerer” because of her family’s beliefs regarding “jinn and touch” and their refusal to medical treatment for epilepsy.
The consultant said during her appearance on the program Ya Hala: “The girl was 8 years old and had epilepsy, but her father refused treatment and said she was crazy, and he took her to a sorcerer in one of the neighborhoods of Riyadh.”
Fawzia Bamkadam continued: “The charlatan was strangling the girl and sitting on her chest, and she was fainting due to lack of oxygen, and following 8 sessions she was disabled and became unable to speak or move.”
She concluded her speech: “After the child’s disability, her father decided to take her back to the hospital for epilepsy treatment, and now I don’t know if she is alive or dead because the incident happened before 2010.”
