Al-Marsad newspaper: Captain Pilot Abdullah Al-Ghamdi revealed the reasons for the high prices of airline tickets. Pointing out that the prices of some domestic flights are higher than international.
During an interview with him on the “Yahla” program broadcast on the Gulf Rotana channel, he indicated that he did not see any justification for the high prices of domestic airline tickets in the Kingdom.
He continued, “I met a citizen and he told me that he traveled to one of the interior regions with his wife and two children, with tickets worth 6,000 riyals, one way.”
On the reasons for the rise in ticket prices, he said: “The Corona pandemic affected the aviation sector in general and airlines in particular, as well as the rise in oil prices and inflation, which led to a heavy burden on the companies’ budget.”
And he added: “In order for the companies to return to recovery and recovery, I ask that this not be on the back of the citizen and resident, but rather in partnership between the two.”
He added: “The price of domestic tickets today competes with international ticket prices, if not more than them. The evidence for this followed the reaction of the Civil Aviation Authority, which translates the direction of the state and the rulers to seek the welfare of the citizen and seek his comfort.”
