In the video.. Al-Jazeera newspaper rents its main building in Riyadh in search of financial resources

Al-Marsad newspaper: Al-Arabiya channel revealed that Al-Jazeera newspaper will set up its main building in Riyadh in search of financial resources, in light of the financial crises that newspapers are going through.

The channel showed footage of the headquarters when it was opened in 1996, in the presence of King Salman, Prince of Riyadh at the time.

The channel’s correspondent stated that Al Jazeera was characterized by two publications that received wide spread and echoes, and many observers say that these institutions failed to invest the huge money that they obtained over the past years.

Mutlaq Al-Anzi, former deputy editor-in-chief of Al-Youm newspaper, said: It is undoubtedly a painful decision, and this decision came in order not to resort to a harsher decision, which is the closure.

He pointed out that the paper newspapers have reached a severe crisis that requires solutions, and the government must participate in these solutions.

Turki Al-Ayyar, professor of journalism at King Saud University, added that a paper newspaper that has an electronic version may be able to continue in its field of work, while paper newspapers that neglected the electronic aspect may not be able to continue.
