Al-Marsad Newspaper: Weather researcher “Abdulaziz Al-Hussaini” revealed, during an interview with Al-Ekhbariya channel, the reason for the extreme rise in heat waves in southern and central Europe.
Al-Hussaini said, that the hot or cold waves come according to what the winds carry, and what happened in Europe was that the winds moved from the hot regions of the Sahara, for a not short period and at long distances, which resulted in a rise in temperatures, especially in southern and central Europe.
Al-Hussaini continued, the temperature in some European cities has reached 40%, which is considered a record degree, as Central Europe is a cold region.
He added, in most cases, that heat waves are only in August, but unusually, the heat waves continued and advanced in the current month of July and August, and although the heat waves are far apart, they were severe.
And he added, this year is different for European cities. With the rise in temperature, Europe experienced a lack of rain, although it is a cold region famous for rain and very cold weather in winter.
