Al-Marsad newspaper: Al-Ekhbariya channel revealed, during a television report, the suffering of a family in Dammam from the high water bill, which reached 400,000 riyals, despite the absence of leaks.

In the report, Al-Ekhbariya correspondent said that the family was surprised last January by the Saudi water company’s demand for them of 400,000 riyals, and this amount contradicts the cost of water in Saudi Arabia and usage estimates. When the company examined the house, it did not find any leaks and reduced the amount to 250,000 riyals.

Fadia Al-Fawaz, who lives with her family of 7 people in a one-story house in Dammam, said that all her family members were affected by what the water company did, and her bills were unlawfully.

And she continued, it is not reasonable that the collection amounts during the occurrence of leaks, as well as the absence of leaks, so the bill came to us very normal like others and not in high numbers, and suddenly it was cut off, and following years they demanded us this astronomical amount despite the absence of leaks in the house.

Fadia expressed her anger, saying, if we calculate the amounts of the bill that come to us monthly, 400 or 120 riyals, during the 8 years we spent in the house, her water bill would have reached only 50 or 40 thousand riyals, where did the amount of 400 thousand riyals come from .
