Al-Marsad Newspaper: Dr. Fawaz Al-Anzi, Professor of Cardiology, revealed the benefits of aspirin and when to use it to prevent heart or stroke disease.
Al-Enezi said, in a video clip shown by the “Al-Resala” channel, “Aspirin is useful in preventing heart attacks or strokes.”
He continued, “The results of the most important studies on the use of aspirin for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases were reviewed.”
He continued, “The results indicated that patients diagnosed with heart or cerebrovascular disease, angina pectoris, vascular problems or a type of atrial fibrillation benefit from aspirin.”
He continued: “For people who take aspirin to prevent cardiovascular disease, here they should know 3 important information.”
And he added: “Those who are over 60 years old and have not been diagnosed with heart disease, even if they suffer from blood sugar or blood cholesterol, or are smokers, should stop using aspirin, because its damage is more.”
And he continued: “Aspirin in this case may cause stomach ulcers, cerebral hemorrhage and gastrointestinal bleeding.”
He added: “People between the ages of 40 and 60 should look at the rate of sugar and blood pressure, the percentage of smoking, its presence or absence, blood cholesterol problems, the patient’s age. If the risks are more than 10%, we recommend using aspirin.”
He concluded his speech: “Aspirin is not the solution to eliminating cardiovascular diseases, but the solution is to regularize blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, stop smoking, and exercise.”
