Al-Marsad newspaper: Citizen Sadiq Al-Marouhan, who lives in the city of Qatif, revealed the details of his suffering from a rare compulsive sleep disorder for 17 years, which puts him in a deep sleep for long periods, sometimes for six consecutive months.

Al-Marwahn explained during his interview with Al-Arabiya channel that symptoms of the disease appeared on him in 2005 AD, and he discovered his illness through a doctor in a private hospital who told him that she suspected that he had narcolepsy; But she did not see a patient with him in her professional life, but she studied him, and the doctor transferred him to a specialized hospital, in 2009 AD, and they conducted the necessary tests for him, and diagnosed his illness as compulsive sleep.
His wife, Sana, said that he slept for three days or more, and during a period of six months he slept, and that she carried him to go to the bathroom or feed him and he fell asleep once more.
Caused him infertility
Al-Arabiya TV report pointed out that Sadiq was exposed to traffic accidents due to sudden sleep while driving, and he also suffers from some people’s disbelief that he had this disease.
The report added that Sadiq suffers from difficult financial conditions, due to his inability to work, in addition to his need for a surgical operation that costs from 25 to 30 thousand riyals to be able to have children; Because narcolepsy caused him infertility.
