Georgina Rodriguez, the partner of Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, spoke emotionally regarding the death of their child, according to The Independent.
Georgina discussed her family life in the new trailer for the second season of her documentary series, via the “Netflix” platform, “I am Georgina.” Cristiano and his partner announced for the first time the death of their twin son, Angel, in April 2022, when they revealed the birth of their daughter Bella.
In the teaser, which was released on March 15, Georgina talks regarding the past year, explaining: “Over 40 million people follow me, but no one knows how I really feel. This year, I went through the best and worst moments of my life, in an instant.
The clip continued to show a video of Rodriguez and Ronaldo holding the sound waves of their twins, before showing pictures of them holding their newborn twin daughter. A tearful Rodriguez then explained how the soccer star helped her overcome her grief and move on.
“Life is hard,” she said. “Life goes on. I have reasons to move on and be strong. Chris really encouraged me to carry on with my work… He said, “Geo, go on with your life. It will do you good.”
Georgina, who shares a five-year-old daughter named (Alana), with Ronaldo, expressed her gratitude to her loved ones, adding: “My priority now is my family and my children. I am very happy and grateful.”
Last year, Ronaldo and Rodriguez shared the news of their son’s death in a joint post on social media, saying, “We are deeply saddened to announce the death of our baby boy.” They said it was the greatest pain any parent might feel, adding: “Only the birth of our baby girl gives us strength.” Let’s live this moment with some hope and happiness.
The partners also took the opportunity to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and medical staff for “all the care and support”.
“We are all devastated by this loss, and we demand privacy at this incredibly difficult time… our baby, you are our angel,” they wrote. We will always love you.”
Months later, Ronaldo spoke regarding his son’s death, during an interview with Piers Morgan. The Manchester United star has gone on to share how he spoke regarding the death of his son to his four other children, when he first brought home Georgina Bella.
Ronaldo said: «Gio arrived home, and the children started asking: Where is the other child? After one week I said, “Let’s be honest, and let’s be honest with the kids… Angel, which is his name, went to heaven.”
He described how his children talk a lot regarding Angel in their home, adding: “The children understand, and sometimes say, ‘Dad did it for Angel,’ and point to the sky. What I like most is that it is part of their lives.”
