In December 1997, Chen Shuibian, Wu Shuzhen, Chen Zhizhong, Huang Ruiliang and others were prosecuted.

After the related cases have been merged and tried in the first, second and third instance and remanded, some cases have been decided, and the remaining state confidential fee and money laundering cases are currently being held by the Taiwan High Court for the second instance, and the trial judge is Li Shihua.

The parts returned by the Supreme Court for the second instance include: the case involving state secret expenses involving Chen Shui-bian, Wu Shuzhen, Ma Yongcheng, Lin Dexun, and Chen Zhenhui; Sued in the money laundering case of state secret fees, and the money laundering case in which Chen Zhizhong and Huang Ruiliang were charged.

In the second instance, all defendants except Chen Shui-bian were summoned today, including Chen Shui-bian’s wife Wu Shuzhen, son Chen Zhizhong, daughter-in-law Huang Ruiliang, then Deputy Secretary-General of the Presidential Office Ma Yongcheng, then Presidential Office Director Lin Dexun, then Presidential Palace Cashier Chen Zhenhui, Bian’s friend Cai Mingzhe, Qian Liqi Construction Chairman Guo Quanqing. Wu Shuzhen submitted a letter to ask for leave.
