“We know that we have to move towards a world with greater financial inclusion and for that there is no better way than to generate more transparency and knowledge regarding how the economy evolves and how the economies of companies are made up”, explains Carretino.

“For example, although 17% of the transactions operated through Interbanking in the last semester of 2022 correspond to salary payments, the amount of the same category represents only 3.8% of the total. At the same time, the volume of transfers destined to payments made to the AFIP is 6%, but they add up to more than 21% of the total amount”, he continues.

The index shows a sustained increase in the number of companies in Argentina in the period from 2018 to 2022. The total number of companies increased from 443,932 to 510,859, while bank accounts went from 2.7 million in 2018 to almost 4 million in December 2022, registering an increase of 46%.

The figures for the second half of 2022 show a 10% growth in the number of financial transactions in the corporate segment and 91.2% in the total nominal volume operated. This confirms a marked trend towards the digitization of financial transactions in the Argentine market.
