Books – Ahmed Abdel Moneim:

Dr. Ibrahim Khaled, head of the Matrouh Drinking Water and Sanitation Company, said that the meters of 138 villages have been removed, due to non-payment of overdue dues from those villages.

He explained that the company provided facilities to these villages by paying 50% of the dues and deferring 50% of the payment over a 12-month period, paying an old installment with a new one.

The head of the Matrouh Drinking Water Company indicated, in a telephone interview with the media, Lamees Al-Hadidi, on her program “A Last Word”, on the “On TV” channel, that the number of villages that are regular in payment is only 12.

He continued, “The number of villages that are not committed to paying has decreased from 138 villages, and some of them began to settle their debts, bringing the number down to 27 villages, and the rest are commercial mall services, car catering stations and others.”

Regarding the names of these tourist villages, the head of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Company said that the villages are: “Green Coast, Golden Egypt, Attic Hotel, Amlak Misr Company, Diyar Investments Company, Al-Ameriya Lady Company, Marina Valley, Qwest Company, and Marasina Tourism Investment Company.” The Egyptian Company for Touristic Villages, Heliopolis Company, and Miami Islands in the Dabaa and Sidi Abdel Rahman areas.

The Council of Ministers had confirmed in its weekly meeting last Wednesday, corresponding to May 25, 2022, that the efficiency of facilities in this area had been raised, and it was found out that there are several tourist villages in this area that have not paid the state’s dues for drinking water and electricity, and therefore all villages must pay the dues until Utilities are reconnected to her.

The Prime Minister added that the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers was assigned to hold a meeting with utility officials in the relevant ministries, and officials of these tourist villages to agree on the speedy payment of dues, stressing that the service will not return until following payment.

Today, Tuesday, May 31, 2022, Madbouly directed the Governor of Matrouh to stop electricity and water services for 27 tourist villages in the North Coast region, located on the border between El Alamein and El Dabaa, due to their failure to pay state dues, related to water and electricity.
