Amid laughter and indifference, teenagers beat an elderly man in Philadelphia to death with a traffic cone.
CCTV footage revealed a group of deranged teens laughing and taking video clips of beating a 72-year-old man as he walked down the street, the New York Post reported, citing police.
Disturbing video of the incident, released by police on Friday, showed the elderly man trying to get away from the group as they followed him across the street before one of the attackers hit the victim from behind with a cone.
The impact of the blow caused him to fall to the ground, but a girl once more picked up the same cone and hit him in the face like another girl in the group recording on his phone.
In addition, the escape and pursuit continued, but the same girl picked up the cone once more, and chased following the man amid the laughter of the other teenagers.
With that, one girl grabbed both hands over her mouth in horror following the hit.
For their part, the police said that the elderly man was taken to a local hospital, where he died the next day of his injuries.
The footage showed the group leaving the scene, including a smiling boy as he walked away on a bike with another boy.
As of Friday, none of the teens had been arrested, and the Philadelphia Police Department offered a $20,000 reward for the attackers.
