In the Manche, the inhabitants of Saint-James come together to reduce their energy bill

The mayor, David Juquin, immediately displays the objective of this operation: “we hope to save 200 euros in purchasing power per year for each household! For this, we launched a call for tenders won by Wikipower. We made sure of its seriousness and now, this company is in charge of answering all the questions that the inhabitants ask themselves. It is for the moment only a question of pre-registration. Then, Wikipower is in charge of negotiating with the energy suppliers to obtain the best rates for us thanks to our grouping. It is then that this company will detail to each the savings that it can make. And each household will be free at that time to accept the proposal or not, ”he explains.

300 households in the municipality pre-registered

“Given the soaring costs and the energy upheavals that are looming, it is certain that we have more and more interest in grouping together, to be in force and to negotiate the costs. Me, I registered immediately, especially since it is still very reassuring to know that the town hall is overseeing this operation, ”explains Anthony, one of the first residents involved in the process.

Like him, more than 300 households in the town, as well as a few companies, are pre-registered. Within a month, these candidates for the consortium will therefore receive a personalized calculation of the expected savings. For those who accept it, the process is simple and free of charge. No need to even change the counter.

“Frankly, all the elements of guarantee seem to me to be met. Moreover, I know that the town hall, for several months, proposes, on the same principle, a group system of mutual. And everyone I know who has joined seems satisfied with it, so I see no reason not to participate in this collective action which seems to me virtuous from all points of view,” explains Alexis, another resident.
