The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s free next-generation update will be released next week and will add improved graphics, a new quest, and a photo mode to the game. However, it will also fix one of the original game’s most notable omissions.
In the quest “Destination: Skellige”, bookish Geralt’s love interest, Yennefer, gives you the key to her room at the inn. This key is labeled as a “common item” in the inventory, causing a flurry of memes and jokes regarding how “common” the item was and what that means for bonding with Yennefer.
While reviewing the game, journalists noticed that the description of the key was changed to “relic” – the description that the game uses for the rarest items. This story itself became a meme in the community following one user created a modification that made the key a relic worth 100,000 coins.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Next Generation Update is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on December 14th.
