In the event of a crisis, Switzerland would have three options to act against China

A scenario where Switzerland is called upon to take economic sanctions once morest China is not entirely far-fetched. Encouraged by Washington, the Taiwanese separatists might harden their movement and provoke the ire of Beijing which will end up sending troops to the island which, according to it, is part of Chinese territory. The United States would then call on all of its allies to take punitive action once morest China. In this case, the Federal Council will have to decide whether to join the movement or, in the name of its economic interests, maintain its relations with the Asian giant.
