One of the companies that are having to implement changes to comply with the requirements of Digital Markets Law (Digital Markets Actor DMA) of the European Union, the Meta will allow its users to unlink accounts from their various services from Facebook in the bloc countries.

The first change concerns the Instagram. According to the company reported in an announcementeven users who have already chosen to link the social network to Facebook will be able to choose between managing the two accounts together (through the Account Center, as is currently the case) or separately.

O Messengerwhich currently can only be used associated with a Facebook account, can also be configured as a new standalone account, which will allow you to use basically all of the messaging app’s services even if the user does not have an active subscription to the social network “mom ”.

Another change concerns the Marketplace do Facebook, which will now allow users to opt out of using their social network information to improve their browsing experience. In this case, communication between buyers and sellers must be via email (and no longer via Messenger).

Users will also be able to choose not to share their social network information during games. There is also a limitation on the experience for those who choose this option, as it will not be possible to play with other people — support will only be for individual games.

In addition to EU countries, new nations that are part of the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland will also be included.
