Vienna (OTS) – Farmers on the streets, trains that don’t run, the economy in recession and a coalition that threatens to collapse. Germany, the epitome of stability, is looking sad at the moment. For decades, German companies were considered world class. But it is now clear that the automotive industry has missed the transition to electric cars, solar cells made in China dominate the market and large construction projects such as Berlin Airport are turning into a disaster.
What’s going on in our neighboring country, which has enormous economic importance for Austria; more than 30 percent of our exports go there. Why are people in Germany taking to the streets? What do the electoral successes of the extreme right mean for society and the economic standstill for us?
