In May of this year, the DAZ reported on a study that drew attention to vitamin B12 levels under metformin therapy. In particular, the similarity between a neuropathy caused by vitamin B12 deficiency and a diabetic neuropathy was pointed out. “While it was unclear whether vitamin B-12 plays a causal role in the development of neuropathy, low vitamin B-12 levels appeared to be associated with neuropathy,” it said.
