The dishes include, yellow snapper, rice paper, oranges, confectionery and wine. At regarding 6pm on the same day, the family discovered 5 people with symptoms of purple face, foaming at the mouth, convulsions and taken to the emergency room at Quynh Luu District General Hospital. At the hospital, two cases, Mr. Nguyen Van Si and Mr. Vu Van Hoa, were diagnosed with out-of-hospital circulatory arrest, alcohol poisoning/hepatitis – kidney failure/coagulation disorders. The remaining 3 patients were diagnosed with alcohol poisoning / TD hepatitis – kidney failure / TD coagulation disorder.
After receiving emergency treatment, the patients continued to be transferred to higher levels for further treatment. Currently, there are 3 cases of stable health, 1 case is on mechanical ventilation, 1 case is on dialysis and mechanical ventilation.
The foods included in the meal such as yellow fish, rice paper, oranges, and confectionery were used by the family before and no abnormality was recorded.
At the time of investigation, samples were taken from all food samples consumed by 5 patients and alcohol samples in the family for testing. In which, there are 7 wine samples, including 5 samples of wine soaked with roots of unknown types and 2 samples of white wine. Currently, the authorities have sent wine samples to Hanoi for testing and determining the cause of the incident.
