For a moment it seemed like real football fairytales still existed. Coventry City, the number 8 in The Championship, seemed like a bird for the cat once morest Manchester United in the semi-final of the FA Cup at Wembley: it was 0-3 following an hour of the match.

But United fumbled and Simms and O’Hare gave Coventry’s rabid fans hope once more. In extra time, that hope turned into redemption: Wright gave the second division team extra time from the spot: 3-3.

It was nail-biting in those extensions. The goal was clear for both Manchester United and Coventry and in the final minute of extra time, Torp brought the Coventry fans into ecstasy with the 4-3. The VAR disallowed the goal for minimal offside in the build-up.

Penalties had to decide and following Casemiro’s miss, Coventry, winners of the FA Cup in 1987, seemed to be on their way to the final once more. But nerves had the final say and Højlund kicked United to the FA Cup final once morest Manchester City.
