A spokesperson of Bajaur Police told Independent Urdu on Wednesday that the explosion took place in Wada Mamond area of ​​Bajaur in which the car of former Senator Hidayatullah was targeted by a remote control explosion.

He said that in the blast, three people including the senator who were in the car with him have lost their lives. The former senator was going to his brother’s election campaign when he was targeted.

Rescue 1122 spokesman Bilal Ahmad Faizi told Independent Urdu that three dead bodies and one injured person have been shifted to the hospital from the blast site. He said that former senator Hidayatullah is also among those who lost their lives in the blast.

Former senator Hidayatullah’s nephew Najibullah is an independent candidate from PK-22 constituency of Bajaur.

Najeebullah is the son of former governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shaukatullah Khan, while Hidayatullah, who lost his life in the blast, was the brother of engineer Shaukatullah Khan.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur condemned the blast and asked the police authorities to report the incident. He also expressed regret over the loss of life of three persons including former senator Hidayatullah Khan.
