“We continue to bring animal welfare sessions to all the municipalities of the Atlantic.
During the first semester of 2022, in the 114 animal welfare days held, 3,263 canines and felines were sterilized, bringing welfare to them and their owners for free,” said the Governor of the Atlantic, Elsa Noguera.

The president added that, in addition to performing sterilizations, in these days the community has the opportunity to take their pets to receive free care in deworming, vaccination and census of special breeds.

Likewise, training has been carried out on responsible ownership, raising awareness among 2,090 people; 34 canines have been registered as special breeds and 360 pet emergencies have been attended to.

Katherine Salas, an inhabitant of the municipality of Sabanalarga, took advantage of one of the animal welfare days to take her pet and perform the sterilization.

“I think it is excellent that they are taking these days to the neighborhoods of the municipalities, because sterilizing our pets is too expensive, and here we have it completely free. This helps us to give our animals a better quality of life,” he said. .

According to the Ministry of Health, the benefit of animal sterilization also extends to the entire community, because this is the only method to change the situation of abuse and abandonment of pets in urban areas and rural areas of the country. department.

For this new semester, the Governorate of the Atlantic will continue touring all the municipalities with the animal patrol, carrying out wellness days to contribute to a better quality of life for pets and their owners.
