The bodies of 46 alleged migrants are found in a truck on a remote country road in southwest San Antonio, Texas on June 27. As part of the investigation into the incident, three people were detained, the newspaper reports. KSAT.

Around 6 p.m. Monday, a man working nearby heard a cry for help. He approached an 18-wheel trailer with the doors partially open, saw several bodies inside, and called the police. There were 46 dead. 16 people were hospitalized: 12 adults and four children.

The San Antonio Fire Department said the car had no water or air conditioning. The cause of death may have been heat stroke.

Gov. Greg Abbott blames US President Joe Biden’s immigration policies.

“At least 42 people have been found dead in a migrant truck in Texas. These deaths are on Biden. This is the result of his deadly open borders policy,” Abbott wrote on social media.

There have been several similar cases in the United States and other countries, recalls KSAT. On July 23, 2017, eight immigrants were found dead in a stuffy trailer in a San Antonio parking lot, and two more died in hospitals. The driver was sentenced to life imprisonment. On February 20, 2017, 13 African migrants suffocated in a shipping container while being transported between two cities in Libya. On August 27, 2015, Austrian police found an abandoned truck containing the bodies of 71 migrants, including eight children, from Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan. The truck arrived in Austria from Hungary. On June 18, 2000, 58 Chinese immigrants were found dead inside a trailer in the English port city of Dover, two survived. Dutch transport transported immigrants across the English Channel from Belgium.
