In Sweden, the far-right party leader burns the Qur’an in public Danish far-right party leader burns copy of holy Quran in Sweden

Stockholm: The leader of the far-right Strom Kurz party has set fire to a Koran in a Muslim-majority area in Sweden. Rasmus Palodan burned the Holy Scriptures to the ground in an open public place in South Linkoping on Thursday.

About 200 people then gathered in the square to protest. The protesters asked police not to allow the leader of the ethnic hatred. With this, the protest intensified. The protesters hurled stones at the police and obstructed traffic.

Similar anti-Muslim activities have been carried out by far-right ethnic groups in the past. In September 2020, Paludan was banned from entering Sweden and Germany for two years following a similar incident.

Mikhail Yuksal, founder of the Party of Different Colors, said that Paludan’s Islamophobic and anti-Muslim activities continue to be carried out in Sweden in collaboration with the police. He added that Paludan prefers areas densely populated by Muslims and areas close to mosques.
