In summer, put your five senses at the service of your health

summer is not only synonymous with the beach, warmth, swimming and relaxing in the sun. It also involves care. Immersed in a state of “total relaxation”, good intentions are forgotten until September when the agenda is dusted off, the skin asks for hydration and the scale only speaks true truths.

The high temperatures, changing eating habits, sleep and activities that take place at this time of year can favor the onset of the discomfort typical of this time of year. That is why it is practical, at the beginning of the summer period, to know some basic recommendations to take full advantage of it.

Through the five senses, the professionals of the Ribera Salud group review the main treatments to take into account to enjoy a healthy summer.

  1. Touch. Always use the right protection for your skin, sunbathe gradually avoiding the hottest hours (between midnight and 4 p.m.), remember to also cover your head and dry well when you get out of the water .
  2. To see. Wear sunglasses and protect your eyes in swimming pools. This will prevent eye damage caused by excessive sun exposure.
  3. The smell. If you experience a dry nose and excessive thirst, hydrate yourself. You will avoid suffering from heatstroke.
  4. The ear. The accumulation of water inside the ear canal facilitates the development of infections. Keep your ears dry.
  5. Taste. Drink two to three liters of water a day, do not wait to be thirsty to drink and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.

All the professionals of the Ribera Salud group are at your service in the hospitals and primary care centers of La Ribera, Denia, Torrevieja and Vinalopó-Elche so that you can enjoy a summer with all five senses.
