In Senegal, Pape Diop assumes his rallying to the presidential coalition

In Senegal, the political class reacts following the rallying of Pape Diop to the presidential majority. The former mayor of Dakar allowed the government to regain a majority in the National Assembly. After the legislative elections of July 31, Benno Bokk Yakaar had lost the absolute majority to a single seat.

Thursday in Niger, an improvised explosive device killed two civilians in the village of Boudoum, a few kilometers from the capital Niamey. Even if the Nigerien authorities are strengthening their military partnerships with foreign countries, the jihadist threat remains very present on national soil. Mines are a particular aspect of the conflict since these devices pollute the soil for several generations.

Since 2006, school has been compulsory from the age of 6 in Benin. This was not obvious for all walks of life and especially in the voodoo community, where children are supposed to live in seclusion for several years to acquire knowledge related to custom.
