Oblige motorists to slow down to force the State to renovate buildings. It is a form of action and an original demand that the activists of Renovate Switzerland chose in April to support a request addressed on March 20 to the Federal Council. “The energy transition concerns all sectors, but it will take a century at the current rate to transform the million buildings that need urgent thermal renovation. But we don’t have the time,” summarizes Cécile Bessire, spokesperson for Renovate Switzerland. The organization requires the Federal Council to put in place, in four months, an emergency plan endowed with 1 billion francs per year to finance the insulation of buildings. This is about five times more than the current effort in this area.
