Mauricio Macri He surprised some officials of the Buenos Aires cabinet this morning when he entered the government building on Bolívar 1, where he knew how to have his office as head of the Buenos Aires Government for 7 years between December 2007 and April 2015, before the inauguration of the new headquarters of Uspallata , in the neighborhood of Parque Patricios.

Who was not surprised to see him there was the current head of government, Horacio Rodriguez Larretawho had invited the former President to join a cabinet meeting that is usually repeated every Wednesday.

The staging sought to generate a gesture of unity in Together for Change in the midst of cross mistrust and growing rumors indicating that Macri is willing to be a candidate in the 2023 national elections.

Upon consultation of Infobae, close to Rodríguez Larreta explained that it is usual for leaders of Together for Change to join the meetings of the ministers. They recalled, for example, that last week who was at the cabinet meeting was María Eugenia Vidal. Some time ago they had also summoned Ricardo Gil Lavedra to address the situation of the Judicial Council.

At Wednesday’s meeting they discussed the situation and management issues. Electoral misgivings will probably remain until noon, when the chiefs of Together for Change meet with an agenda that includes debates regarding a possible agreement with Javier Milei.

In official photos released following the meeting, Macri can be seen sitting near Education Minister Soledad Acuña and his cousin, Government Minister Jorge Macri. His spokesperson was also in the building, Gustavo Gomez Repettoand the Buenos Aires legislator Dario Grandson. Larreta appears escorted by his Chief of Staff, Philip Michael.

15 days ago, Macri and Rodríguez Larreta had already been shown together in other activity related to management. It was during a visit to a school in Nueva Pompeya in which Minister Acuña also participated.

At the beginning of this 2022, Macri has decided to definitively raise his profile with media appearances, important meetings and international trips. Last week in Washington, she dodged questions regarding a possible 2023 run: “I just want to consolidate unity and clarify why we want to return to power”.

This followingnoon, the former head of state plans to travel to Bariloche to participate in the Llao Llao Forum, a private meeting that brings together the most important businessmen in the country. Larreta and the Minister of Economy Martín Guzmán will also participate, among other references.
