A total of 185 doctors who are members of the Salta Obstetrics and Gynecology Society resigned from providing services to members of the prepaid medical company Swiss Medical, due to the company’s refusal to update the fees for its various benefits.
The president of the Salta Obstetrics and Gynecology Society, Dr. Oscar Mulki, together with the members of the Board of Directors, explained that the decision was made due to the lack of satisfactory responses from Swiss Medical to its various requests.
“We ask to update fees for services as basic as medical consultations, obstetric ultrasound scans, deliveries and gynecological surgeries, and to make it clear that we are asking for more than sensible values,” he said.
Mulki explic que the proposal of the Society of Gynecology was raised in June to all social works and prepaid, the majority being accepted. “Swiss Medical rejected it. We raised a new proposal in September and it was not even evaluated by their managers.”
In view of this, I anticipated that 90% of gynecologists and obstetricians will not provide the benefit. “We have obtained the resignation of 185 colleagues. Taking into account that we are 200 gynecologists in Salta who work through the Medical Circle, it is the resignation of 90% of the census”.
If there is no call for dialogue and subsequent agreement, As of next December 8, Swiss Medical affiliates will have to pay privately for gynecological and obstetric services that require their primary professionals.
