A new association has emerged in Saint-Pierre-Quiberon. “Penthièvre ocean nature” already has 120 members. Its goal: “to do everything to limit the impact of the work in progress on Boulevard de l’Océan, restore a minimum of aesthetics, and preserve what can still be preserved”.

Concreting and land artificialization

Opponents of the work underway on Boulevard de l’Océan in Penthièvre made themselves heard on December 27 on Place Neptune. This demonstration was organized at the call of a collective. “To act, to undertake actions, we needed to structure ourselves more,” explains Jean-Marie Nicot-Bérenger, the president of the brand new association. He adds: “We do not want this concreting, the artificialization of the soil and the subsoil. We ask to finally be received and heard by the town hall. We do not want a meeting to inform us of what has already been decided, but we are calling for real consultation, for a one-year moratorium on the extension of the developments.”

The “inconsistencies” of the project

The members of “Penthièvre Océan Nature” have already called on a lawyer to put the town hall on notice to provide the plans for the development project. The association is opposed to the creation of a cycle path on its own site and advocates the establishment of a path shared between all users.

The office also insists on its wish to unite the Penthièvre residents and that it has “nothing against AREP, the Association of Penthièvre Residents”. Yves Etienvre, the secretary, adds: “We have built a file which presents all the inconsistencies of the project and shows the infringements of the various regulations, town planning code, requirements of the large dune site… We are determined”.
