“Limestone can be used to make thick wrapping paper, as well as office, book and even toilet paper. If mass production is established in the country, the prices for it will be similar or even lower than for ordinary paper,” the speaker said.

The economist noted that stone paper is already being made in Japan. Turkey and Uzbekistan also have developments for production.

Russia has inexhaustible reserves of limestone. This paper does not need to be bleached. In addition, it is more resistant to damage, including moisture. It can be used for all kinds of printing. Stone paper is eco-friendly and biodegradable.
