In Revolution, communal councils are fundamental in the exercise of social control

This Tuesday, in the Punto de Encuentro program broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the deputy of the National Assembly (AN), and president of the People’s Power Subcommittee, Gabriela Peña, was a guest, who pointed out that “in Revolution The communal councils are the fundamental nucleus of the territorial government instance, which must be executed by the social comptroller, to strengthen the People’s Power”.

Peña explained that they are following the guidelines of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, in relation to the call for profound reforms of the organic laws of People’s Power.

Recently, the head of the Executive Nicolás Maduro emphasized that “the Bolivarian revolutionary process is not a political reform; This is a process where the laws that exist today must be simplified, to adapt their concepts, their categories, to the current historical reality of People’s Power, where the Social Comptrollership Law must be deeply studied and revised, to exercise more effectively the exercise of participatory and protagonist democracy, and guarantee the control of public management, which are the pillars of the Constitution”.

The parliamentarian also commented on the development of working groups, with specialized teams from the Comptroller General of the Republic, the Attorney General’s Office, even even the Ombudsman’s Office together with Popular Power.

“In these activities, related to the reform process, the “Fighters for the Homeland” Social Comptrollership Movement, the “Darío Vivas” Social Comptrollership Movement is participating, Peña said.

The deputy explained that eight articles are being reformed, and said that the inclusion of a ninth is planned, in order to incorporate training with a transversal process in the exercise of social control, and thus comply with what is dictated by the Constitution, where all the Venezuelan people are involved.
