14 sunken ships and vessels are planned to be raised in Primorsky Krai in 2023, 12 more – in 2024. The work will be carried out within the framework of the federal project “General Cleaning”.
“Cleaning of water areas started in 2022. Then the owner raised floating dock No. 1 in Diomede Bay from the bottom. This year, it is planned to raise 14 sunken objects, next year – 12 more. These floating craft were included in the program according to criteria that pose a danger to navigation and a threat to the ecology of the water area. Thus, the project includes 27 dead ships,”— stated today Deputy Prime Minister of Primorye Yelena Parkhomenko.
The survey and preparation of documentation are scheduled until June 30, and lifting and disposal – until November 17. According to Mrs. Parkhomenko, the raising of eight sunken ships will be carried out at the expense of the regional budget “with subsequent co-financing from the federal budget.” The rest of the vessels must be raised by the owners. The total amount of necessary expenses in the message of the authorities is not specified.
This year, Vladivostok plans to raise a sea tugboat in the Golden Horn Bay and floating dock No. 429 in the Diomede Bay. Similar work with sunken warships and vessels in the Truda Bay of Russky Island should be carried out by the owners.
Federal project “General cleaning” has been approved in 2021. It provides for the elimination of environmentally hazardous facilities throughout Russia. In 2022–2024, the federal budget provides for 20 billion rubles for the “General Cleaning” activities. These funds will provide survey and assessment of the objects of accumulated damage to the environment and the elimination of the most dangerous of them. In particular, it is planned to raise 68 sunken ships in the Kamchatka, Khabarovsk and Primorsky territories, Sakhalin and Magadan regions.
